The Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC), a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), provides high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. We are a program of Los Angeles Jewish Health, renowned for providing quality care to vulnerable seniors.

The Clinic Assistant is responsible for the development and implementation of home care services for program participants.

The responsibilities of the Clinic Assistant include, but are not limited to: 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provides Clinic front desk coverage: answers phones promptly and politely.
  • Coordinates faxing of documents, triages phone calls appropriately, assists with rooming participants.
  • Assists RN clinic supervisor as needed.
  • Provides support to clinic staff
  • Provides support to clinic coordinator as needed
  • Orders all supplies for the Clinic and assists with stocking the clinic
  • Orders all supplies for home care.
  • Reviews pre-op checklist for completion
  • Coordinates and implements home care services to assure that quality services are provided to meet participant’s needs.
  • Coordinates all approved home care hours, DME and home care supplies with the participant, family, and appropriate company.
  • Provides the utilization report for home care services and supplies
  • Coordinates and authorizes all durable medical equipment and enters authorizations for all approved home care/DME in the electronic medical record (EMR). Delivers services in the EMR.
  • Documents all interactions and ordered services in the electronic medical record.
  • Works with supportive housing staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Works closely with the Center Manager and Director of Quality and Compliance to receive, document and resolve reports of participant rights violations, grievances, appeals and other issues related to service and quality of care.
  • Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
  • Works closely with the Director of Quality and Compliance to oversee all activities related to quality assurance of Home Care.
  • Works closely with the Center Manager and Director of Quality and Compliance to receive, document and resolve reports of participant rights violations, grievances, appeals and other issues related to service and quality of care.
  • Participate in participant council meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in the clinic as needed and assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Degree and diplomas: High school diploma.
  • Certificates, Licenses: Verification of completion of CPR (BLS) and first aid training. TB screening and successful completion of a health examination by a health care provider is required for employment. Valid California driver’s license.
  • Experience: At least one-year experience working with the frail or elderly. Experience in fast-paced clinic or physician’s office preferred.
  • Skills/Aptitudes: Must be able to work effectively as part of an Interdisciplinary Team. Must have excellent organization and customer service skills.
